Wheeling Symphony Yoga Series to Kick Off During Arts Fest

(Wheeling, WV) The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) is pleased to announce the return of their beloved WSO Yoga series. Taking place once a month at the Wheeling Artisan Center, this program combines yoga and live music for a free music-meets-movement experience. Each class is led by a different local yoga instructor, with a solo WSO musician providing background music. WSO Yoga is sponsored by Lea Ridenhour and Eriks Janelsins.

“We are thrilled to announce the return of WSO yoga,” says Sumner Riddick, Interim Executive Director for the Wheeling Symphony. “It’s a wonderful way to experience live music and hear the high caliber of our WSO musicians in an entirely unique way. We are so grateful to Lea and Eriks for continuing this program!”

This year, the series will begin with a special class at Wheeling Park, in conjunction with the Wheeling Arts Fest on August 2. Starting at 10 am, yogis can attend the class at the skating rink before heading to the opening of the arts festival at 11 am. The yoga instructor for this session is Lindsay Schooler, with music provided by WSO Principal Violist Jennifer Gerhard Mangone.

After the August class, the remaining classes will be held at 9 am on the first Saturday of each month, except for the December session which will be held on December 13. The classes will take place at the Wheeling Artisan Center. All WSO Yoga classes are free to attend, but donations will be accepted.
