This year, the students are coming to us! For more information on the 2026 Young People’s Concert, see below.

Mark your calendars!  The 2026 Wheeling Symphony Young People’s Concerts are scheduled for November 18 at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  This year’s concerts will be held at the Capitol Theatre on Main Street in Wheeling, WV.

Reservation forms will be available on September 1.  This year’s program will celebrate one of the most prolific American composers and conductors, Leonard Bernstein, with this musical tribute featuring two exemplary talents: Bernstein’s own daughter, writer and storyteller Jamie Bernstein, and powerhouse vocalist Morgan James, in her third appearance with the WSO. From West Side Story to Candide, enjoy this examination of the life and work of one of the most important figures in American orchestral history, perfectly timed to celebrate America 250.  It promises to be a very appealing and educational program.

The concert is approximately 45 minutes in length and is recommended for elementary

Students grades 3-5. Teacher resources will be provided at the beginning of October.

The suggested donation/admission fee of $2.00 is applicable only to students.

Teachers and chaperones attend at no cost. Please note that no child should be discouraged

from attending due to the inability to pay.

We are thrilled to be able to bring this unique experience to your students!  A reservation form with specifics will follow. We will fill each performance on a first come first serve basis.
