Each year, the WSO’s Young People’s Concert Tour travels to schools and venues in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania and provides thousands of elementary school students and their teachers with the opportunity to experience engaging and educational symphonic performances.

Announcing the 2023 Young People’s Concert Tour!

 

Join Indiana Tones and her two friends, Christylez Bacon and Maestro John, as they travel around the world to find the special beat to unlock Indy’s recovered treasure chest. From Ghana to Ireland and back, this program–featuring the new Migrations in Rhythm: A Concerto for Beatbox and Rhyme by Evan Meier and commissioned by the WSO–will teach students how different cultures blend various rhythms together to become the genres of music we know and love today.

Concert schedule:

  • April 12 – 8:20 and 9:30 a.m. performances at Washington Park School in Washington, PA  
  • April 13 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. performances at John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, WV
  • April 14 – 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. performances at J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center in Wheeling, WV
