The Wheeling Symphony Youth Orchestra (WSYO) offers young musicians from the tri-state area a formal venue in which to train and perform.

Members of both ensembles are provided with a professional musical environment and tutelage by Music Director Shaun Hancher. WSYO musicians are offered training opportunities with professional musicians of the WSO, guest conducting sessions with WSO Music Director John Devlin, and side-by-side concert experiences at Wheeling Symphony Orchestra concerts.

Competitive auditions draw students from West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Rehearsals are held weekly from September through April, and the WSYO presents two primary concerts each year that are free and open to the public.

The WSYO is currently accepting auditions for new members. Please read below for information on how to audition.
