Prelude Strings is an intermediate string ensemble of the Wheeling Symphony Youth Orchestra designed for young musicians ready to grow their skills through ensemble playing.

The ensemble is open to violin, viola, cello, and bass students with at least one year of playing experience, either through private lessons or a school strings program. Participation is based on teacher recommendation.

Prelude Strings provides students with a supportive and engaging environment to continue their musical development, with an emphasis on instrumental technique, healthy playing posture, musicianship, and ensemble skills. Students will gain experience rehearsing and performing with their peers while building the skills and confidence needed for more advanced orchestral playing.
