Support The Symphony

The costs associated with operating a symphony orchestra are as extraordinary as the benefits it provides. Perusing this website will give you some idea of the scope of the Wheeling Symphony’s offerings, from its seven-concert Subscription Series, to its annual Young People’s Concert Tour, to its Wheeling Symphony Youth Orchestra.

The generosity and support of the Ohio Valley community have been vital to the Wheeling Symphony’s longevity and success. Each year, loyal donors along with new friends step forward to share in the stewardship of this organization. Please review the opportunities below and then consider how you can best show your support for the WSO.

Annual Symphony Fund: The Symphony Fund Campaign assists the WSO in the presentation of its current season’s offerings and in its ongoing educational and outreach programs. Donations are accepted in all amounts and throughout the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). In addition, donor benefits are provided on an increasing scale. To learn more about the Symphony Fund Campaign, please visit the Symphony Fund page on this site or contact WSO Development Director Gail Looney at 304.232.6191.

By clicking the “Donate” button below, you can make an immediate tax-deductible donation to the Wheeling Symphony’s 2010-2011 Symphony Fund Campaign. It’s fast, it’s easy and it’s secure!

Concert Sponsorship: The Wheeling Symphony could not afford to present its concert subscription series if not for the financial support of corporate and individual sponsors. Visit the Concert Sponsors page on this website to see a list of this season’s generous supporters.

Major Gifts: A major gift given during your lifetime shows how much you value the Wheeling Symphony and this community. Such contributions can be allocated as you see fit and may include naming opportunities, special acknowledgement and additional donor benefits. Please contact WSO Executive Director Bruce A. Wheeler at 304.232.6191 to discuss these options.

Planned Gifts: There are many planned giving vehicles, from estate plans to gift annuities, which the Wheeling Symphony is able to explore with you and your financial planner. Furthermore, by notifying the WSO of your planned giving intentions, you will immediately become a member of its Heritage Society. Please contact WSO Executive Director Bruce Wheeler at 304.232.6191 to set up a meeting where such options and their benefits can be discussed in detail.
